 Anthony
was born in St. Mary's Hospital,Grand Rapids, Michigan,
USA on the November 1st in 1962. Anthony's
dad is Blackie Dammet, who's also the Fanclub
President, his mother is Peggy Idema and he's
got two sisters; Julie and Jen, little
brother called James and his sister has got a
son called Jackson Diego.
Anthony's
parents divorced when he was just six. Then he lives
with his mother. When he was 11, the boy and his father,
an actor Blackie Dammet, moved to L.A. His father gives
Anthony a big effect when he grew up. "I inherited my
father's insatiable desire to meet all the beautiful
girls in the world". Anthony already lost hist virginity
just when he was 13 to an 18 years old girl named Kimberley
Smith (Blackie's GirlFriend). Blackie set this up.
At a very early age Anthony gained a very experimental
lifestyle. About his acting career, little anthony started
it in the movie F.I.S.T where he plays the son
of Sylvester Stallone (RAMBO, ROCKY). He uses an alias,
Cole Dammet.
It was the day, this stranger teen at FairFax High School,
Anthony saved this Aussie boy, Michael Balzary (known
as Flea) in a fight. They later became a 'dynamic duo'.Anthony
and Flea became the wildest, craziest duo in L.A. Thier
well known bravery soon make 'em a legend to their school.They
do anything to get swimming in the Big mansions in the
Hollywood area just for fun. This duo later teamed up
with the other ramping Fairfax teenage team–Hillel Slovak
and Jack Irons.Together they formed the Los Faces
gang. Hillel, Jack and Flea already have this band,
called 'Anthym' and that was when Anthony really interested
himself to the world of music. Anthony began to show
his great talent with words, and he began to open Anthym's
shows by reading various poetry and at on show the magnificent
four improvised the classic Out in LA. Together always
they spent their time listening, learning, and playing
music. Anthony who went under the nickname "Swan"
- Antwan the Swan now formed a band that he called
'Tony Flow and the Miraculously Majestic Masters
of Mayhem'. After some persuasion, the others agreed
to join the band.
And they re-named after a joke about "Chily Willy
and the Red Hot Peppers" to the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Anthony's english teacher Mrs Vernon who inspired Anthony
to "write words" Through the years Anthony has developed
his own special way of singing and composing lyrics.
Anthony has a dog called Howlin' Wolf. The name Kiedis
originally comes from is a Lithuanian. Anthony used
to dream about some day going there and finding the
girl of his dreams. Other than creating music Anthony’s
biggest passion is listening to music and gaining inspiration
from that. Some of the artists that have inspired him
are: Stevie Wonder, Lou Reed, Sly Stone, Bob Marley,
Jimi Hendrix, Iggy Pop, Led Zeppelin, Defunkt etc.
Andy Warhol inspired him a lot artistically as
you can see about Anthony's hairstyle, he enjoys art
a lot especially surrealistic artists like Salvador
Dali. When it comes to sport Anthony loves basketball
and a freak maniac of the L.A. Lakers. Anthony
loves travelling and exploring the nature of the world.
His been to exotic places as the jungles of Borneo (Kalimantan
in Indonesia), India, Myanmar, South America etc. He
got a lot of the inspiration in the writing of Californication
from those travels.
1997, Anthony met the Dalai Lama in India which
he recalls as an amazing experience. During periods
of his life Anthony fall in to a hole of drug addiction
but feels that he is today strong enough to resist the
poison. "Today I am much happier then I ever was while
I was on drugs." During a whort while in the eighties
Anthony was actually kicked out the band because of
his bad habbit. Anthony is brilliant vocalist and an
excellent writer of lyrics. No one sings like him. His
unique way of putting so much strength and feeling into
his songs creates many emotions for the ones listening.
In his lyrics Anthony has very often sung about the
close love in the band. He always expresses his opinions
and beliefs. This gives a lot of strength to the band;
how Anthony always creates lyrics dealing with problems
of the society that also contains deep emotions. interesting
points about Anthony.... Anthony lives in the Hollywood
Hills and he's got a house in New Zealand (don't ask
the author, cause I don't know whre the exact location
is!).
He’s
five feet, ten inches tall and his eyes colour are brown.
In the year 1989 Anthony was convicted for indecent
exposure by the Virginia court but has ever since claimed
his innocence. In the year 1997 the band's touring had
to be cancelled after he broke his wrist and his arm
in many places in a serious motorbike accident when
a car suddenly pulled a U-turn. Nowadays, Anthony cares
a lot about his health and diet, he's a vegetarian and
practices yoga. *I believe Anthony sure do have a healthy
life than what he was in the early years... Anthony
is the strong identity of the CHILI PEPPERS, and his
great lyrics continues to entertain the world until
now. His magical life story always been a good example
on how hardlife is.
